Working with the NCC

Working with the NCC offers the opportunity to develop new processes and technologies, and to reduce research and development costs through access to state-of-the-art equipment, and specialist software, knowledge and experience. Members will benefit from working alongside other leading original equipment manufacturers and material and equipment suppliers. The NCC will be an innovative and collaborative open-access facility that adds value for all its members.

Companies from any sector that would like to participate in the NCC research and technology programmes are invited to join the NCC. Membership opportunities exist for small, medium and large companies wishing to develop new technologies, learn about existing technologies or see new materials, tooling or design services implemented at an industrial scale.

 

Membership

There are two levels of membership:

  • Tier 1 membership is aimed at original equipment manufacturers and large companies. It includes NCC Steering Board membership, participation in the NCC’s core research and technology programmes, company-specific programmes and full access to the NCC’s facilities and expertise.
  • Tier 2 membership is aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises and supply chain members. It allows access to the NCC’s core programmes and facilities.
  • Affiliate Membership is aimed at smaller companies with an involvement in composites or an interest in diversifying into composites, or who want to be associated with the National Composites Centre brand or to develop a relationship with the NCC or its members. The membership benefits are currently being developed and your views are welcome - please email affiliates@nccuk.com. However benefits may include:
    • Access to the facilities (meeting rooms etc) 
    • Opportunity for Members' business are heard in the Media, through promotion.
    • Provide the opportunity for our Members to network (members only events etc) 
    • Promote our Members' profiles and capabilities to other members, UK and overseas markets. 
    • Access to members only market and industry information and analysis.

 

What about intellectual property?

Intellectual property (IP) from the NCC core programme will be available for exploitation by Tier 1 members through royalty-free license and to Tier 2 members and collaborators by negotiation. IP of company-directed research remains with the company concerned.
